As part of an ongoing project on branding, we chanced upon a story that promised to be exciting both in terms of visual detail and content to build a brand on. A small but extremely skilled community of potters lies toward the northern fringes of a rapidly expanding city today. Lost amidst the chaos of “modernization” and technology, this humble abode is home to around 90 families of potters who have settled here since decades. Multiple generations of this artisan community bond over the wheel, trying desperately to hold onto their values, skills, and identity while keeping pace with urbanization.
